FOREVER FRESH FEEDER 

Pet Feeding Bowl 

PROBLEM:

Veterinarians are increasingly recommending feeding pets
wet/canned/fresh food as opposed to dry kibble for many
different reasons.  However, the problem that arises is a
scheduling issue.  Typically, moist food will dry out during
the day or could even begin to spoil if simply left in a bowl.
This wastes food and poses a danger to a pet's health.


SOLUTION: 

My product is an elevated pet feeding stand.  The base and bowl are one unit with double-walled vacuum insulation lining the interior walls and floor. The feeding bowl is made of stainless steel which is an excellent conductor of heat and cold.  An attached insulated lid would respond to a sensor placed on the collar of a pet so it would open upon the pet approaching the unit.  The insulated lid would further ensure the appropriate food temperature for maximum freshness as well as prevent pet food odors and keep pesky flies and insects away.  The base unit would be filled with ice chips/cold water or warm/hot water through a screw-on lid located under the base unit. With this product the freshness of 

wet/canned/organic food or warm broth, etc., can be available to pets for extended periods of time to accommodate both the owner's availability and the pet's feeding preferences.  It could also provide a constant refreshing source of cold water for drinking.

Note:  I have utilized this basic principle with my own pets by 

placing a frozen extended time cold pack used for
shipping beneath a stainless steel bowl.  I have placed
canned food in the stainless steel bowl for six to eight hour periods and it has remained cool, moist and fresh.  Utilizing the thermal approach with the vacuum insulation would be more practical in that it wouldn't involve keeping a steady supply of cold packs in the freezer and the cold/warm temperature would be more consistent over a period of hours without the constantly changing room temperature affecting the rate of thawing of the ice packs.

the base and bowl unit pictured.  Modifications include an

attached insulated lid that would open in response to a sensor on the pet's collar similar to the sensor tag shown as well as a screw-on

lid on the underside for filling as opposed to the small opening

on the top which is shown.    

The feeding unit would utilize the same heating/cooling principles as illustrated in the link below depicting a beverage thermos.
